First of all I would like to congratulate and thank all those patrons, staff, and students, for getting involved in the superintendent interview process last week. I was especially impressed with the number and balance of young and veteran parents and patrons in the community group. Thanks to the chairpersons for leading all the groups and getting your material and perceptions to the board of education within the time restraints. Thanks also to Sharon Kastanek and Brenda Watson for giving the spouse tours of the communities.
In the end, the board selected Raymond Collins currently employed at Prague Public Schools. He has been at Prague in a variety of positions including the assignments of Agricultural instructor, principal and superintendent since 1982. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He and his wife Deb, will be bringing in a set of twin boys to next year’s senior class. They also have a daughter attending Doane College and a daughter who just graduated from UNL.
