Girls JH BB Teams Pick Up Wins at Southern

The Wilber-Clatonia Junior High girls basketball teams took two games from Southern in Wymore on Monday night. The 7th grade team won 33-17 while the 8th grade team won 33-14. Both teams played hard and continue to improve. Both games were very physical and hard fought.
In the 7th grade game, the scoring was done by Atley Cerveny who scored 33 points, she also added 12 rebounds. Also rebounding were Christina Uden with 10, Savanna Kiesel with 7, Kasie Bruss with 5, and Marissa Florian with 2.
In the 8th grade game, scoring was lead by Bridget Murkle who had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Alexa Cerveny had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Camry Fikar had 7 points and 7 rebounds, Jeana Warta scored 1 point and had 4 rebounds. Chrissy Homolka added 6 rebounds, Brittany Placek had 5, and Hannah Ochs 1. The 8th grade team is now 4-1 and the 7th grade team is 3-2.
The teams are next in action on Saturday at the Fairbury Tournament.
