Saline County Spelling Bee

Miller 1st Place Winner

February 14, 2013

5th & 6th Grade students that qualified for the Saline County Spelling Contest held on February 13th were Sierra Miller, Maddie Reichert, Delaney Splichal, Aleen Souvannavong, Jackie Kalkwarf, and Mike Pulliam. The contest was held at the Saline County Court House. Congratulations to all of the Qualifiers.

Sierra Miller won 1st Place at the Saline County Spelling Contest! The contest went 22 rounds with 10 works each round for a total of 220 words spelled. This broke a record, they have never gone 22 rounds before. Some of the words included: vexatious, talisman, unscrupulous, solidarity, pavilion, vernacular, rusticate, and bivouac (to name a few). Sierra has the opportunity to go to Fairbury on February 16th for the District Spelling Contest. 

Congratulations Sierra, Good Job!!!
