1. Was the competition at districts as tough as you expected..why or why
not?
Our district was tough, it was very similar to our conference meet. We were able to get into the runner-up position as a team which was positive. We qualified 8 girls so that was also a plus.
2. State qualifier numbers...did you pick up as many as you figured to or were
there a few surprises (please elaborate)?
We thought that if we had a really good day we could get up to 8 so that was good. Taylor and Kyra going 1-2 in the discus was a highlight, Katie getting 2nd in the 800, and Ariana 2nd in the Long Jump were also highlights. Cami ran her best times of the year in the 100 and 200, and the sprint relay ran its best time and got in as an extra qualifier.
3. What were the biggest plusses at the meet this year and why?
We had many positive's getting team runner-up and having 8 girls qualify.
4. How many returning qualifiers are there and in what events?
Cami Hasenohr in the 100,200, and 400 Relay
Katie Oliver in the 800
Taylor Riechers in the Discus
Kyra Jiskra in the Discus
Ariana Munro in the Long Jump
Kayla Asher in the 400 Relay
Shelby Pflanz in the 400 Relay
Jenna Uher in the 400 Relay
5. Final thoughts on the state meet:
We have a good chance to score some quality points at state. I think we have a chance at a Top 10 finish.
