Wolverines Eat Cardinals
Tennis Team Improves Dual Record to 4-0

The rain stopped and the clouds went away leaving a beautiful evening for tennis. The Lady Wolverines took advantage of the break in the rain to soundly defeat the Crete Cardinals 6-3 in dual action on Tuesday evening. Once again the Wolverines jumped out to a lead behind strong singles play.
At number one singles Katelyn Koll soundly defeated Jacque Parratt 8-0. Stephanie Morrissey fought her way to an 8-5 win at number 2 singles against Andrea McCain. At number 3 singles Kessa Rezny continued to play well in defeating Jessica Chang 8-1. Playing in the number 4 singles spot Kerri Murphey cruised to an 8-1 victory over Wendi Mellor. The Wolverines lone loss in singles came at the number 5 spot when Maureen Beck dropped a very close decision to Christine Rezac in a tie break 8-9 (5-7). The final singles victory of the evening came at number 6 singles when Sydnee Kiesel outplayed Abby Urbanek 8-5. The Wolverines struggled a little in doubles. At Number one doubles Morrissey and Alyssa Randolph dropped a close match to Chang and Rezac 5-8. The Wolverines doubles win cam at number two when Kiesel and Murphey soundly defeated Mellor and Urbanek 8-1. The number three doubles team of Kristi Moore and Shelby Hajek fell to Kara Siedhoff and Kelsey Hier 3-8. The Wolverines are in action again next week when they face Lincoln Southeast at home next Tuesday the 15th.
