Special Invite
All FFA Supporters are cordially invited to attend our supporter’s breakfast Wednesday, February, 20th from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The breakfast will be held in the Ag classroom and shop area. The breakfast is for all FFA Supporters who help our FFA Chapter through-out the year. Parents, Alumni, W-C Staff, and business people should plan now to attend. See you on, February 20th!
National FFA Week
Our Chapter will celebrate National FFA week, February 18th through the 22nd. Chapter officers have planned several fun activities for members, students, and the community. Members will promote the week by taping 30 second radio spot with the KWBE Station in Beatrice.
FFA Week Activities include:
Monday, February 18th - Official dress day
- Mayors sign proclamation
- Members wearing official dress may attend a pizza party
at noon
Tuesday, February 19th - Pick up truck day
- All students are encouraged to drive trucks to school. These trucks must be street legal and safe
Wednesday, February 20th - Supporters Breakfast
- High school Ag Shop and Classroom
- Serving Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- FFA Members sign up to bring food items
Thursday, February 21st - Student Convocation, Farm Yard Olympics (TBA)
Friday, February 22nd - Children’s Barnyard – for elementary students; will be held in the Ag Shop area.
- FFA members will need to sign up to bring animals.
- Barnyard will start at 12:30 p.m.
Farm Show
The Fifth annual Southeast Nebraska Farm Show is planned for
Wednesday, February 27, 2008. The Wilber-Clatonia FFA Alumni is
gearing up for the show which will be held at Saline Center Hall
beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. Saline Center Hall
is located at County Road M and Highway 15 in Saline County. The
show is free to all agricultural producers. There will be over 70
tables to view from exhibitors in Nebraska and Kansas.
A free pork meal will be served from 11:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. There
will be door prizes and give-a-ways throughout the day. A silent
auction will be held during the Farm Show to further support the
Wilber-Clatonia FFA Chapter and to provide scholarships for FFA
students.
At 11:30 a.m., members of the Wilber-Clatonia FFA will provide a
presentation on "Should Deer Populations be Reduced in Southeast
Nebraska" followed by entertainment provided by the Wilber-Clatonia
School.

FFA members will set-up for the show on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at Saline Center starting at 4:00 pm. Pizza will be served for the workers, all FFA members are welcome to help. Mr. Kenning will take a van out to Saline Center that night for any-one who wants a ride.
FFA Alumni
The W-C FFA Alumni would like to encourage everyone to join the FFA Alumni. The Alumni is open to parents, businesses, and community members. The FFA Alumni is for everyone who wishes to help support the FFA and FFA activities. Alumni membership is open to anyone. You do not need to be a former FFA member or a former student of our school. Our next meeting will be held February 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. in the Ag classroom. Be sure to talk to Mr. Kenning if you have any questions. Hope to see you at the next meeting.

Ag Issues Team
The Agricultural Issues team wants to present their program about “Should Deer Populations be Reduced in Southeast Nebraska” to local clubs and groups in our area. The presentation is about 10 minutes in length and provides the pros and cons about this issue. If your club or group would like to have this presentation please contact Mr. Kenning at the High School (821-2508).
Fruit Sales
Once again, we would like to thank the many people who have purchases fruit, cheese, meats, and candy from our FFA Chapter. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Several FFA Members did a very good job selling our products. The top 10 sales people were:

Degree and Award Applications
Bryce Horak, Barrett Huneke, Andrew Holsing, Jenni-Lin Moore, Hillary Korinek, Kelsie Musil, and Kelsey Homolka Wilber-Clatonia FFA members have applied for the State Degree. They will take an FFA test, be interviewed, and submit their record books and application. This year we are also proud to have several FFA members applying for proficiencies. Good luck to all applicants.
Ag Education Contests
District Agricultural Education Skills Contests will be held Tuesday, March 4th at Southeast Community College in Beatrice. Please note that date change. Student should sign-up for contests and begin to prepare for the event. Success at the contest depends on the member’s attitude, willingness to work, and attendance at all practices. If members want to be on a team, they need to show up on time and be ready to work during practice times.
